Dr. Knowles grew up in rural mid-Michigan near Alma. She excelled in academics and athletics at Alma High School and went on to pursue Communications and Biochemistry at Alma College. She played softball and basketball at Alma College and was president of the Communication Honor Society and Omicron Delta Kappa, a Leadership Honor Society. She completed her dental degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and has been in practice for over twenty-five years. Before opening her practice in between Haslett and East Lansing, Dr. Knowles created her speaking, writing and consulting business, IntentionalDental Consulting. She speaks and writes to dental professionals around the globe about leadership, overall body health & wellness, and eco-conscious dentistry. Dr. Knowles is a teacher at heart and takes great pride in helping her patients learn more about their own health. She served as a Michigan Dental Association Board of Trustees member for her profession and as the editor of her local dental society component. Lisa was also an assistant varsity coach for East Lansing’s high school softball team from 2015-2020. She believes in the development of others, and, because of her gifts with her hands and mind, she is a natural choice for patients in her community. She is married and has two children–and one dog.
